Artist Bio
Sammy Roque is an upcoming artist based in Los Angeles. He has been in the entertainment space creating art for many aspects he enjoys, along with original arts, character concepts, illustrations, fine arts, drawing, sketching, stylization, and environments.
He loves imaginative design and illustration in the entertainment industry. Appreciating relatable characters, or seeing an expansive world that feels lived in, and its possibilities is what fuels his passion for art. He strives to inspire others with his creativity and love for his work.
He has done art in many fields. Traditional, illustration, original arts, character, prop, environment design, sketching, etc. He strives to be able to adapt and excel in any field he’s in with his art. Although he tries his hand in many fields, he shows his obvious preference for digital art in character design, illustration, stylization, and love of others' original creations.
His studies include many subjects such as drawing, painting, illustration, design, color theory, and conceptualization. He self-studied seriously in the latter half of high school, then attended Cerritos College for a few years afterward. Additionally, he’s taken Life drawing, figure drawing, color theory, storyboarding, applied perspective, digital painting, character design, and a few others within the space. Currently, Sammy is studying entertainment design at Fullerton College.
Sammy has done many works as a freelance artist with private commissions and companies. Through R&R Creatives, he has assisted in character concepts plus various works with Spin Master. Another was being an assistant in the design pipeline at Super7. He was also in a collaborative project with CosmicCowZine, in creating a fanzine for the animated series Avatar the Last Airbender. Most proudly, he designed and coordinated with manufacturing to create an enamel pin and other small merchandise as a memento of his aunt.
